Jungeun Chae & Yoora Yoon
Chae, a Korean-born chef, has been making waves in the culinary scene with her innovative take on traditional Korean cuisine. She was introduced to the wonders of traditional fermentation by her mother and grandmother, which laid the foundation for her future career as a chef. In 2019, Chae and her husband Yoora Yoon opened a Korean restaurant out of her one-bedroom apartment. In 2022, they relocated to Cockatoo in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne, where they continue to offer an exclusive dining experience. The menu is a celebration of Korean cuisine, featuring traditional and innovative dishes. Chae’s use of fermentation techniques adds depth and complexity to her dishes, while her homemade condiments provide a personal touch that sets her food apart.
